Lee Michelle – Without You

Don’t look at me with those eyes
Don’t be deluded
That’s your misunderstanding
Don’t even think that
I live in tears and let out sighs every day
But I just don’t understand
Baby baby baby boy

I let go of your hands and held different ones
But I can’t find a love that’s better than you or different from you

I’m beautiful without you
I’m meaningful without you
I’m beautiful even without you
Now I’m sick of you

I’m beautiful without you
I’m meaningful without you
I’m still beautiful even if I wasn’t loved by you

Without you without you
Without you baby
Without you without you

I’m so angry
Everyone treated me like you did, baby
Now I’ll erase you and wipe my tears
So I can receive a love that’s better than yours and different from yours

I’m beautiful without you
I’m meaningful without you
I’m beautiful even without you
Now I’m sick of you

I’m beautiful without you
I’m meaningful without you
I’m still beautiful even if I wasn’t loved by you

Even if you’re not by my side (without you)
I’m smiling (without you)
Now I feel nothing (without you)
I’m not even crying (without you)

Without you, without you, I’m alright

I’m beautiful without you
I’m meaningful without you
I’m beautiful even without you
Now I’m sick of you

I’m beautiful without you
I’m meaningful without you
I’m still beautiful even if I wasn’t loved by you

Without you
Without you
Without you baby
Without you
Without you

Hoping to be a bridge between k-pop music & k-pop fans who don't understand the Korean language.

  1. I absolutely love this music video.
This is a note that I shared on my instagram account (@ulzzang_hearts, follow me if you would like! ^_^ ):

The mv speaks on so many different levels, and I truly believe that this is worth sharing. As far as I know, this is the first kpop mv that features a solo artist who is part African American. We all know how the Asian stereotype disfavors dark skin and favors pale, white skin. And, we all know how awful and utterly despicable discrimination against any race is. (There was and possibly is still much racial discrimination in the US.) The Asian stereotype makes is very difficult for an artist of dark skin color to be respected and become successful. Michelle Lee is half African American and half Korean. After successfully auditioning for K-pop Star Season 1 in 2011, she eventually was signed to YG Entertainment, but the band she was to join, SuPearls was disbanded. Lee is now a solo artist under DIMA Ent. Personally, I think YG made a grave mistake when nullifying Lee’s contract, but I want to focus more on this actual mv. It deals with the frustration and anger Lee feels as part African American growing up in Korea and facing all the bullying and dislike from People around her.
Please understand, I do not have hard feelings against Korea and Asia, for that matter. I myself am Taiwanese, but I am passionate about civil rights and hope to help end racial discrimination.
Anyways, please do watch the mv. Lee’s voice is absolutely amazing, and I can’t wait to see what her future will bring. This song and video deserves just as many views and likes, if not more, than some of the kpop songs out now. Please help her get there and on the Korean charts by circulating this around as much as you can. Bullying (racial discrimination) is a serious problem for biracial children in Korea especially ones mixed with darker ethnicities. Please share her mv with others. Just imagine what it was like being in her shoes growing up in this environment. I absolutely love this music video and the message behind it. Michelle Lee, fighting! 😀
