Kim Hee Chul & Kim Jung Mo – Essay (수필)

In the dark dawn, I’m looking at the dew filled leaf
When the light slowly brightens between the curtains

Stretching with a very small smile
Sipping water with very small lips
Awakening the day with very small sounds of birds

I open my closet and wear clothes the color of autumn
Then I open an old, gray box underneath

Looking at the photos with a very small smile
Kissing it with my lips
Thinking about it for a moment with very slightly sad eyes

You took such a big place in my heart
But now you’re spreading like a blue bruise
In case you get erased, I’m holding onto you as a scar
I’m afraid you’ll disappear like this
Because it’s my hope to not forget you yet

Passing a street, raining with red leaves
I see my old love passing through my eyes
Blurs and fades day by day like bad vision
I try to look but it’s dark and I can’t see it

Memories that I hope will remain for a long time
They’re spreading like a blue bruise
In case you get erased, I’m holding onto you as a scar
I’m afraid you’ll disappear like this
Because it’s my hope to not forget you yet

Won’t be able to write it today
I’ll just repeat it tomorrow

Hoping to be a bridge between k-pop music & k-pop fans who don't understand the Korean language.
